The Hummingbird Jerkhouse opened in 2019 by Patrick Murrel and his wife. Patrick is from the parish of Westmoreland and lived in the town of Sav-la-mar next to Negril. Patrick is one of eight kids raised by his mother Louise Barton who recently past away mid last year (2018). Patrick loved his mother and got all his recipes from her because he had to cook as a boy growing up. Mama teach him to cook! 

 

The Hummingbird is a modern Jamaican restaurant nestled in the up-and-coming New Tampa. The menu offers a variety of authentic Jamaican delights including a fresh selection of foods and Jamaican sauces (just like mama used to make). A few of The Hummingbird Jerkhouse's signature dishes are (Ackee & Saltfish, Oxtail, Brown Stew Fish (Snapper), Jerk Chicken)

  

In our bakery, you'll find our head chef Patrick making coco bread, some call it folding bread.                 Some choices include (Coco Bread with Saltfish).
